HEART OF TIME

A work presented at the “Seiko Seed Exhibition: Forest of Mechanisms 2023,” hosted by Seiko Watch. Mechanical watch components were embedded into a stone, making visible the universality of the concept of time. Positioned where a human heart would be, the constantly moving part suggests that even within an immutable stone, the same flow of time resonates with our own living bodies.

セイコーウォッチ主催の展示会「Seiko Seed Exhibition からくりの森 2023」にて発表された作品。機械式時計の部品を石に埋め込み、時間という概念の普遍性を可視化した。人の心臓に見立てた位置で静かに動き続ける部品は、不変の石と私たちの身体のあいだに、共通する時間の流れが存在することを示唆している。
